Unity Trust Bank has sponsored a major new report from the Fair Tax Foundation as part of Fair Tax Week 2023. We will be taking part in an exclusive webinar to discuss the report’s findings.
Fair Tax Week takes place from 8th – 18th June. It is a UK-wide recognition of the businesses and organisations that are proud to promote responsible tax conduct and financial transparency. The week is a celebration of the positive contribution this makes to society.
From education, health and social care, to roads, policing and defence, corporation tax helps to fund a wide variety of vital public services. It also plays a crucial role in the wider tax system, helping to counter financial inequalities and rebalance distorted economies.
This year, Unity Trust Bank has sponsored a report from the Fair Tax Foundation – Fairness Matters: UK public attitudes to corporate tax conduct. It brings together seven years of polling data. UK public attitudes to corporate tax conduct: why businesses should consider the Fair Tax Mark is an exclusive webinar taking place during Fair Tax Week. It will explore the findings from the Fair Tax Foundation report in more detail. Unity Trust Bank, report sponsor and Fair Tax Mark accredited business, will highlight its commitment to responsible tax conduct. We will show why financial transparency matters as a responsible lender.
Speakers include Graham Drummond the Head of Communications at the Fair Tax Foundation. Penny Hogan, Financial Controller at Unity Trust Bank will also speak.
Penny comments: “The findings from the Fair Tax Foundation report are clear. Over the past seven years, there has been a high and consistent level of UK public support for responsible tax practises. This doesn’t look set to change – with consumers, quite rightly, expecting businesses to pay their fair share.
“At Unity Trust Bank, we’re proud to be the first bank to achieve a Fair Tax accreditation. It is the gold standard of responsible tax conduct. Fairness and transparency is a key part of our overarching social mission and that’s why we’re supporting Fair Tax Week. It helps to highlight the positive contribution that proper tax conduct can make to wider society.”
Fair Tax Week 2023 will be hosting a schedule of events and webinars. They will discuss key topics and issues around corporate tax.
The webinar: UK public attitudes to corporate tax conduct: why businesses should consider the Fair Tax Mark will take place from 12:00 – 12:45 BST on Friday 9th June 2023.
