Debt counselling and advice
Getting on top of your finances
As the current recession bites deeper, many people working for charities, voluntary organisations and others providing vital services may encounter financial difficulties. That's why we at Unity have teamed up with a leading charity, Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS), to publicise a FREE debt advice and solutions service to your workforce, volunteers and beneficiaries.
CCCS offers free, confidential advice and support to anyone who is worried about debt. Through CCCS debt remedy - a unique on-line counselling service - you can receive web-based expert debt advice, tailored to your needs.
With high profile advertising by fee-charging debt solution organisations, it is difficult for individuals - already overwhelmed by the pressure of trying to meet their everyday financial commitments, due to rising living costs - to make the right choice. CCCS will ensure that you are guided in the right direction and offered appropriate solutions when you need them most.
CCCS offers help with budgeting, income maximisation, benefits, all types of debt problems, including mortgage arrears, as well as different ways of dealing with debt, such as debt management plans, Individual Voluntary Arrangements and bankruptcies.
CCCS can be reached Monday to Friday (8am to 8pm) via a free-phone helpline - 0800 138 1111 - which is staffed by trained counsellors. For more information please visit www.cccs.co.uk.
