Banking for
Social Enterprises

Bootstrap Company

Being a social enterprise ourselves, we understand the way you work and the sector you work in. We also hold memberships with a number of umbrella bodies including Social Enterprise UK and Social Enterprise West Midlands and we work closely with a number of regional and local social enterprise bodies.

To support the sector we have sponsored a number of publications designed to support social enterprises including ‘Social Enterprise Explained’, ‘Start Your Social Enterprise’ and ‘The Social Value Act Quick Guide’.

Many of our social enterprise customers move to us because of our high levels of specialist sector knowledge and are reassured by double bottom line approach which means we are not purely driven by profits. We only work with organisations that have a clear social output with a positive benefit on their local community.

Picking a socially responsible bank was top of our priority list. In Unity we have found not only a banking provider but a supporter whose approach to us has been worth so much more.

Melanie Mills, Chief Executive, Social Enterprise West Midlands
