Unity Trust has a long-standing relationship and understanding of the credit union movement, evidenced by the fact that we currently bank more credit unions than any other bank.

Whilst there are unavoidable costs involved in issuing and managing any type of debit card, we have sought to ensure that our pricing is amongst the most competitive of any prepaid card currently available. That is why the card has:

• no monthly fee
• no annual fee - it's valid for 36 months
• a low top-up fee

This is because in the pricing of the ALTO card, we see the benefits it brings to help tackle the insidious effects of financial exclusion faced by so many of your members.

We have been supporting the movement in cash terms since 1998 when we started our Credit Union Development Loan fund. To date the fund has ploughed almost £100,000 back into the movement, largely aimed at helping credit unions promote themselves and recruit new members in the process.
