Unity Trust Bank appoints new Managing Director
4 January 2012

Unity Trust Bank is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Wilcox as its new Managing Director with immediate effect.
He joins the organisation after 23 years with the Co-operative Bank where he developed the Social Banking Unit, which served the public sector, credit unions, charities and social enterprises. This provided him with not only a detailed understanding of the third sector but also a well honed skill set for the position of Managing Director at Unity.
Richard is returning to Unity, having previously spent six years with the company. He said, “It is an absolute pleasure and a real honour for me to return to Unity. As a shareholder for over 20 years, I have maintained a strong interest in the organisation and I look forward to playing a leading role in shaping its future. This is particularly important at a time when values such as those exhibited by Unity are in real demand, and short supply, within the banking industry.”
Graham Bennett, Unity Chairman, said, “Richard’s appointment is a timely opportunity for Unity to assess its considerable strengths and look forward to an exciting future. I know that Richard’s approach, and evident hunger for Unity to be the best it can be, will prove a positive and driving influence. I look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
